Pay Day Wishlist

I spend a very large amount of my time looking at clothes online and lusting after the instagram images from some of my favourite brands, lucky for me I genuinely like a lot of clothes from cheaper brands such as Boohoo and Missguided, otherwise I would probably have been declared bankrupt a long time ago!

I always have a little list going on of things I want to buy, and it's never completely empty, so I thought I would share some of my favourite wish list items at the moment.

I am slightly obsessed with these tortoise shoes from ASOS, i'm not a huge heels fan but these ones look quite chunky which I like and I think the print is quite unusual, I also can't believe this faux suede jacket is only £15 on eBay!

Company Blog Awards

If you are a regular reader of my blog you might notice that I haven't blogged for almost a month, it's partly down to my current lack of camera which is still driving me mad, I seriously need to invest in a lens! It's also down to a few bits going on in my personal life which have meant blogging hasn't been a top priority recently. As I have touched on in the past I suffer quite badly with anxiety, if anyone has suffered from anxiety you will  know how debilitating it can be and what a huge effect it can have on your life. It's something i'm trying to move on from at the moment by undergoing a course of CBT and a few other stress management courses, I do think it's helping but obviously as with anything of this nature it's going to take a bit of time. I am so excited for the day that I only worry about 'real' problems and am not feeling like i'm going to be sick constantly! I know anxiety is something I will always have but being able to manage it and calm myself down will be a huge achievement for me, and a huge relief for the people that I am close to in life, my anxiety can be just as hard for them as it is for me!

I have a few posts lined up for the next week, one of the reasons I started a blog was reading from other bloggers how it helped with their anxiety/depression/low self esteem and honestly this blog really does make me feel so positive when i'm regularly posting! As much as I write this blog for myself and my own sanity, it is still amazing to receive all the lovely comments and messages I get from you guys and nothing feels as good as when I get an email to say I have a new follower. I don't really expect any recognition because I know I don't post that regularly but here is a link to the Company blog awards page, Company is one of my favourite magazines and Missguided is my favourite online shop so it's a match made in heaven for me!

It would mean a lot to me if anyone likes my blog or what I have to say and fancied giving me a vote, and thanks in advance if you do :)

Missguided SS14 Blogger Event

Last week I was invited to the Missguided SS14 blogger event, so I travelled up to London Wednesday afternoon, excited to see the new collection. This was one of the first blogger events I have attended, apart from working at events with Motel Rocks, so I was pretty excited and a bit unsure of what to expect.

The event was held in The Music Room, just behind Bond Street and was a large exhibition space with several rails showcasing what we can expect from Missguided this Spring/Summer. Two particular trends  jumped out at me straight away, one was festival style, think fringing, kimonos, draped sleeves and plenty of denim, the other was pastels, lots of 60's inspired shapes, colours and prints. I had a good look through all of the items and was pleasantly surprised at the quality, especially keeping in mind the price of your average Missguided piece. The brand seems to have really upped their game in the past year, I remember when I first discovered them a few years ago the site mainly consisted of body con dresses and I rarely found anything I liked, however this collection has got me really excited for what to expect from them in the future - on trend pieces that are unique and individual rather than just copies of more expensive high street stores.

I definitely plan on buying both of these items as soon as they're released!

As well as getting excited over the new collection I was also pretty excited by the cocktail bar! My favourite cocktail had to be the Alexa which was a gin & elderflower drink and I had a good few along with the gorgeous mexican inspired snacks that were floating around.

I took a quick picture of my outfit before I left for the event, I wore the lovely sun and moon print top from Motel Rocks with a Topshop skirt and my Dr Marten shoes. I have been a bit shy with outfit posts recently because I am extremely self conscious at the moment of my figure, i've joined a gym and am on a diet so hopefully after losing a few pounds I will be back to snapping what i'm wearing all the time!

Missguided AW 2013 Preview

Just wanted to share with you guys the Missguided AW 2013 collection featuring model of the moment Anja Konstantinova. I have fallen for the red kimono in the bottom picture as well as the green dress and burnt black kimono over the red velvet dress.

What's everyones thoughts?

Velvet Crush

Oh my god it is so cold! I can't believe the temperature drop recently, I am wrapping up in tights, socks, scarves and gloves and i'm still freezing! Last night I had the ultimate Winter night in; cooking some tasty hot food and then lying on my sofa watching the Christmas channel for 4 hours- oh yes there is a Christmas channel and it's the best!

Today i'm working and am waiting for a Missguided delivery which I am very excited about! My favourite thing about Winter (apart from Christmas) is the shopping, I prefer Winter clothes to Summer, they're just so much better; the colours, the styles and the fabric, and my favourite Winter fabric has got to be velvet. I seem to end up buying velvet clothes every year but this year Missguided has so many winners! I went onto their website looking for a velvet skirt and found this gorgeous green which also comes in a burgundy. On an absolute velvet mission, I found the cute burgundy crop and the navy long sleeved dress, both items I can imagine wearing a lot! Navy, burgundy and bottle green are my favourite Winter colours so yesterday I purchased the skirt and dress and can't wait for them to arrive!
