There's Music In Your Eyes Dear

I was recently contacted by the lovely people at Lavish Alice, with the chance to try out a sample of their new collection, I have a real obsession with the eye as a symbol and jumped at the chance to try out one of their own eye designs.

Pancake Day

Top - Urban Outfitters (old)
Shirt - Vintage
Necklace - Waiste
Belt - Vintage
Skirt - Zara
Shoes - Dr Martens

I took these photos last week before I dyed my hair pink again, and had quite alot chopped off! I have fallen head over heels for this skirt, i've bought a few items recently that I really love, and had been looking for an A Line denim skirt for ages before I found this one for £9.99 in Zara. It's quite short so I don't think i'd be able to wear it without tights but it seems to look good with everything, including this leopard print shirt my friend gave me a while back!

One To Another

Gilet - eBay
Dress - fox + feather
Necklace - Waiste
Shoes - Dr Martens

This is my new favourite outfit! I had the gilet for Christmas and haven't worn it that much, but it's perfect for how the weather has been recently. This dress however i've worn pretty much every day since buying it two weeks ago! It's a Dahlia dress but I bought it from fox + feather, it's so comfortable, I love the print and the shape, i've worn it on nights out and just in the day like this outfit. I especially love the back, its a swing style on the front and smock on the back which combines my two favourite style of dresses in one! We have recently launched our new website over at fox + feather so go and check it out if you like this outfit, I have my eye on a few things for pay day!

I really wanted to do a post on my trip to Glasgow but if i'm completely honest I didn't take many tourist snaps, just 24 disposable camera pictures of the gig, maybe I will share a few so you can see some hilarious photos of me and my friends! Also has anyone been watching 'My Mad Fat Diary' because I absolutely love it! The soundtrack is so good, 90's Brit Pop is one of my favourite genres so every single song i'm shouting at the television YES COME ON! I'll leave you with the theme tune at the bottom because it is such a beauty!

Peggy Sue

Necklace - Waiste
Jeans - Topshop

I've been in two minds about uploading this outfit shot, I think I look terrible, like my face looks so fat and puffy, and I just don't think I look very good, but the weather has been rubbish today to do a different one so i'm just gonna go for it!

I'm wearing a gorgeous jumper I was kindly given by Sweet Sorrow Vintage with my Topshop Joni Jeans, a leopard print coat from fox - feather and my favourite Waiste necklace! I'm going to Glasgow tomorrow because my boyfriends band are supporting The Strypes so if anyone from Glasgow is gonna be there let me know and if anyone happens to catch The Shimmer Band over the next few weeks in their home town, don't forget to tweet me!

Save The Bunnies

Hat - fox + feather
Necklace - Sobeys Vintage
Leotard - (old) H&M
Skirt - eBay
Belt - Vintage

This weekend me and some friends went to Cardiff to watch Toms band play at Welsh Club, it was really fun and good to do something a bit different to most weekends. One of our friends is at Uni there so it was really nice to catch up with her too! Mondays are always so horrible after a few drinks on the weekend aren't they?! My skin always breaks out and I back brush my hair so much on Saturday night that I can't get a brush through it for a few days, so I think tonight is going to be hair mask and early night for me!

I took these pictures on Saturday morning and really like this outfit, the skirt is probably one of the biggest bargains i've had recently I bought it from eBay for £9.99. It's such soft material and I would definitely recommend getting one if you want to get in on the tartan trend thats huge at the moment. I've teamed it with this lipstick from Revlon and a black leotard which is a bit of an essential basic. My hair has faded quite a lot now i'm embracing the silver again and thinking about dying it pink again for Christmas/NYE, it might need a bit of a break and some TLC first though.

Also if you care about animals and how they are treated in the fashion world as much as I do then please sign this petition and save the bunnies!

The Wire

Hat - Tesco
Belt - Vintage
Skirt - Topshop

This post is a little unusual as it has been shot, edited and written all on my iPhone 5! As I have mentioned I recently broke the lens on my DSLR, I was hesitant to use photos from my phone as I thought the quality would be awful but they definitely don't look as bad as I thought they would! I've also used an app called 'Afterlight' which gave me the chance to do quite a bit of editing although it is quite hard to edit on a small iPhone screen.

Today was a really lovely day in Bristol, so me and Tom decided to go for a walk around Clifton Village which, if you know Bristol well, is one of the nicer areas and has quite a few independent shops and bars. We stopped off in The Albion for a hot drink and wandered around the arcade before stopping to take some photos on this lovely walk way. If you live in Bristol you should definitely head up here, as it's such a lovely place to while away an afternoon and is so close to the famous Suspension Bridge.

I was recently contacted by the lovely Hannah at Sweet Sorrow Vintage about a collaboration between us and she has kindly given me a few items which i'm really excited about showing you over the next few outfit posts. As you might have already guessed I absolutely love vintage clothes, and this long sleeved striped top was the first thing I picked from her ASOS Shop, it makes me think of Edie Sedgwick and i've teamed it with a vintage belt I picked up from another vintage shop in Bristol. Hannah is also Bristol based and you can find her online shop here, I would definitely recommend having a look as the clothes are so well priced and if you are based in the South West check out her Facebook page, as she has a regular stall at several vintage fairs in the area.

The Cloud

Hat - Fox & Feather
Jumper - Topshop
Playsuit (worn underneath) - River Island
Necklace - Vintage & Waiste
Bracelet - Vintage
Shoes - Dr Marten Copies

Before you say it, yes this jumper is the greatest thing I have ever bought! I love the fluffy jumper trend but as soon as I saw this one in Topshop I knew I wouldn't be able to find another one that would compare, plus it's called The Cloud! It was £40 and I bought it during the 20% student discount event (with my cousins discount, naughty!) plus I had a £10 gift card from my birthday, so it only cost me £22. I've teamed it with a floral playsuit from River Island which was a birthday present at the end of July, and of course this hat which I can't seem to stop wearing. I am also wearing a Waiste necklace here, I featured Sara Waiste as my blogger of the month in August and have since fallen hard for her vintage clothing label which you can find here. Waiste will be holding a pop up shop in London on 19th, which I wish I was going to but unfortunately I have work so please pop along if your in Dalston.

Ive been in Swanage this weekend with some friends and today is going to consist of a Sunday carvery and a band practice tonight, have a nice Sunday :)

Hate The Taste

Hat - Fox & Feather
Roll Neck - Boohoo
Skirt - Louche at Fox & Feather
Necklace and Bracelet - Vintage
Shoes - eBay Creepers

Sorry for the rubbish quality of these photos, the lens has broken on my camera so i'm borrowing my Dad's and it was a really grey day yesterday when I took these! I am so in love with this skirt, it's from Louche which is a brand we sell in fox & feather and I love the 70's hippy print. It looks good with a lot of plain colours but here i've teamed it with my black roll neck top and a great necklace I picked up from a vintage fair in Bristol. I think you might be seeing a lot of this skirt because I keep finding more tops it looks great with so prepare yourself!

I think i've finally accepted the reality of not getting Glastonbury tickets this year, I was in total shock for a few days but now i'm feeling better about it. I've been to four Glastonbury festivals and can honestly say it's the best i've ever been to, we've never had problems getting tickets before but out of 20 of us no one even got through to a booking form. It's a slight consolation that none of my friends got one, it would be a bit depressing if only a handful of us did, we have such an amazing time in a big group it just wouldn't be the same. I'm thinking of going to Bestival or somewhere smaller like Green Man instead and i'm definitely going to be leaving the country for the last weekend of June!

Here are two of my favourite pictures from the blistering year that was 2010. If you did get Glastonbury tickets and it will be your first time then prepare yourself for the greatest weekend of your life <3

Witching Hour

Hat - Fox & Feather
Dress - Boohoo
Kimono - Motel Rocks
Necklaces - Both Vintage
Bracelets - Portugese Markets
Rings - Biba & Bristol Silver Shops
Shoes - eBay Creepers

I managed to get this pansy kimono from the Motel Rocks sample sale, I really love the shape of these soft jackets and even though it's starting to get a bit colder they're quite nice to have on underneath a big Winter coat. I've teamed it with a plain black swing dress from Boohoo, which i've been wearing loads and my new favourite accessory; the perfect big black hat!

This weekend i'm going away for the night with some friends and am also planning some nights out in Liverpool, Manchester and Cardiff for November whilst my boyfriends band are touring. If any of you lovely bloggers live in any of those cities and like new music or fancy a mini blogger meet up then let me know!

Penny Lane

1 - ASOS Swing Dress | 2. Louche Skirt | 3. Topshop Cloud Jumper | 4. eBay Buckle Boots |
5. Boohoo Jumpsuit

This is the most exciting time of the year for Fashion; the transition from Spring/Summer to Autumn/ Winter. It's time to get out your coats and boots and decide how your gonna keep warm this season. I have a trusty pair of Dr Martens and a faux fur coat which have both been staples for a few years but this year I really want a 70s style coat like Penny Lane in Almost Famous, wish me luck finding one of them! I love all the fluffy jumpers that are coming out at the moment but no matter how hard I try and find a cheaper version, nothing quite compares to the Topshop cloud, it is so soft and such a good length.

Quarter Life Crisis

Sequin Jacket - Vintage
Black Dress - Boohoo
Necklace - Primark
Lipstick - Rimmel Kate Moss 107
Shoes - eBay
Rings - Biba and Bristol Silver Shops

It's been a while since I posted an outfit, over a month at least and it appears I have forgotten how to have my photograph taken, but after my little blogging break I am back and feeling super positive and excited about blogging again. I've made a few changes in my life over the past 6 months and can honestly say I am currently the happiest that I have been in a long time. My anxiety has almost completely gone away and I feel more like myself again after a very long and confusing period, which scared me and a lot of the people around me.

The biggest change I have made is I have a new job - yes again! When I finished University I felt an immense pressure to go into a career straight away and after interning and gaining experience in fashion retail management, I finally felt comfortable and secure working as the store manager for Motel Rocks. My heart was broken when they closed that shop, it meant so much to me and since the redundancy i''ve been wanting to care about a job that much again and wake up in the mornings looking forward to work. After the redundancy I did some temping and a few odd retails jobs but kept thinking back to how happy I had been whilst working at Motel and felt I needed to go back to doing something along those lines.

After a bit of a search during the summer I found a job with independent boutique Fox and Feather in Bristol; I am working 4 days a week in the shop as well as doing a bit of newsletter and blog writing. I feel really happy to have met Clare, the owner, I love helping her come up with ideas for the shop, and feel so lucky that we have such a great working relationship, it's great to feel like part of the company and not just an employee number.

Working part time means I might not have a lot of money but at least it means I am able to develop my other passions, I have time to practice bass guitar and am even part of a girl band now! I also have time to dedicate to this blog and to concentrate on another project which I can't tell you about just yet. I was a really unhappy person for a long time and if you suffer from depression you will understand quite how debilitating that can be, I feel as though i've finally come through it and understand how I want my life to be, sometimes you just have to do the things you want rather than the things you think you should be doing.

Sorry for the long and fairly deep blog post, I hope no one thinks i've lost the plot! I promise everything else will be light and chirpy from now on!

Cherry Lips

Dress - Glamorous
Necklace - Primark and Silver Scene (Bristol)
Cuff - Vintage
Shoes - Fashion Union

If you follow me on Twitter you will know that the other day I got a bit overexcited about this cut out skater dress from Glamorous. I saw it online and couldn't even sleep thinking about it selling out, so I got up at midnight and bought it (yes I know how crazy that makes me sound!) It took 2 days to be delivered (free delivery) and I received a text to let me know exactly what time it would be delivered, such a good service which made the whole transaction really smooth. As soon as it arrived yesterday I had to put it on, I teamed it with my amber necklace and an old primark favourite, plus this gorgeous vintage stone cuff my boyfriend surprised me with for my birthday.

Bass Face

Hat - New Look (old)
Necklace - Topshop (old)
Kaftan - H&M
Black Cycle Shorts - eBay
Shoes - Fashion Union (sold out )
Lipstick - Barry M Pillarbox Red

I'm trying to do something a little bit different with my photos at the moment so today i'm trying out a new idea of putting an image next to some text and not using the flip effect. These photos are not really the best quality, it's a very dark, stormy day here in Bristol so the lighting is terrible, you can't see that i'm wearing black lace trimmed cycle shorts underneath this lovely kaftan. This top was an early birthday present from my boyfriend, and I absolutely love it, it's very 70s and I love the print.

I went out on Saturday for my birthday and had an amazing night, lots of lovely friends came and we went to Mothers Ruin in Bristol, who had 'Roll Over Beethoven' on; a 50's style rockabilly night. Aside from that I have been spending lots of time practicing the bass guitar, which I started learning a few weeks ago and caring for my poor fingers which are killing from the thick strings!

Walk On The Wild Side

Lipstick - Clinique
Dress - Motel Rocks
Shoes - Fashion Union
Socks - Primark

It feels like ages since I last did an outfit post and i've been wanting to show you guys this dress for a really long time! It's the acid wash Tinkerbell from Motel Rocks and I had been wanting it for absolutely ages - as you guys will know if you've read my blog for a while. It was £48 so I never got around to buying it, until I spotted it in Topshop for £20 and snapped it up! It's very short so i've been wearing it with tights or more recently my lace trimmed cycle shorts; I just love this smock/babydoll style. Today I have teamed it with a vintage bag, Dr Martens style lace up shoes and some frilly socks from Primark - which come in a 5 pack of pastel colours for £2.50.

Today I went to Rocotillos Diner in Bristol, which if you're from the area is on the Clifton Triangle, they do the best vegetarian breakfasts and lots of delicious milkshakes (although not together) and today we popped in for a milkshake before taking a walk around Clifton. I went for Peanut Butter, and Tom went for extra thick Vanilla, both were amazing! I really want to start pushing myself to create more interesting photography for my blog so today was the perfect opportunity and I hope you like the outcome.
